Every family has a tree. Not every tree got the same soil.
Changetree was founded on a simple conviction: where you start should not decide where your family’s story ends.

The pattern we want to break
Talk to almost anyone fighting to get ahead from a hard start, and you’ll hear the same thing: the struggle didn’t begin with them. It was there before they were born — in parents who never got a real shot, in neighborhoods where opportunity never visited, in a family history where survival took everything and left nothing over for dreams.
That’s what a family tree can carry: not just names and birthdays, but momentum. And when the momentum is against you, working hard isn’t always enough. Somebody has to step in and tip the odds.
What we’re growing
Changetree helps people and families change the direction of their tree. That can look like a scholarship that carries a first-generation student through college. It can look like walking with someone from homelessness back into stable housing and steady work. Often it simply looks like an open door — a chance that was never going to arrive on its own.
Whatever form it takes, the goal is the same: reach the moment where a family’s story bends toward hope, and make sure it bends for good. Because when one person rises, they rarely rise alone — they lift the generation behind them.

Where we are today
We’re at the very beginning — planting season. The vision is set, the roots are going down, and the organization is taking shape. In the months ahead we’ll share how you can be part of what grows here.
