A nonprofit in the making

Some families inherit opportunity. Others inherit the odds. We exist to change the tree.

Changetree walks alongside families and individuals who never got a fair start — so that the story handed down to the next generation is one of hope, stability, and open doors.

What does it mean to change a family tree?

For some families, hardship isn’t a season — it’s an inheritance, passed from one generation to the next.

A parent who never had the chance to finish school. A young person sleeping in a car, invisible to everyone driving past. A family working harder than anyone around them and still falling behind — not for lack of effort, but for lack of a single open door.

Changetree exists for the moment the pattern breaks. When one student makes it through college, when one person moves from the street into stability, when one door opens that was always closed — everything downstream of that life changes. Children, grandchildren, whole branches of a family tree grow in a new direction.

We’re not here to hand out charity and move on. We’re here to help plant something that outlives us.

One life at a time

Real change is personal. We focus on individual people and families, not statistics — because one changed life reshapes every life that follows it.

Rooted for generations

Our measure of success isn’t this year. It’s whether a family’s children — and their children — grow up with choices their parents never had.
